Runestones


Runestones might not be "the handwriting on the wall" but they are much more than post-it notes on boulders.  Runestones are fascinating and, as you can see in the pictures below, often quite complicated. 

Did you know that the Rök Runestone is considered the first example of Swedish literature?  And that it includes two methods of encryption - displacement and cipher runes?
