March 17, 2009. Here are some pictures of the rocks that are lined up for working this spring in the School of Hard Rocks. These are all from The Rock Shed in Keystone, South Dakota. These will take a while to process, so I will update whenever there is something to share.
September 24, 2009 - Now that is officially fall, I guess I should post photos of the spring project rocks. Some of them are still being polished but there are plenty for photos to share how things went. It was a lot of fun. I learned a lot and have some interesting pieces to show.

Spring Project Update: June 3rd, 2009
I was able to combine all the rocks for the spring projects into a single batch in the B1A1 rock tumbler. Here is what they look like after 264 hours of grinding. I added in some pieces of rose quartz and some other rocks for my study on grind rate. Come back for more updates.

I started tumbling 30 pounds of agate from Brazil today. These are nice big pieces and it will test my patience to wait for them to grind and polish. Charles Dickens would be proud - as you can see in the photo below, I have "Great Expectations".
Agate from Brazil
September 24, 2009 - Most of the Brazilian agates are still in process. A few of the smaller ones are finished. They look a lot like chocolate.
Agate Update, May 31, 2009
Here are the agates after one grinding cycle. I really like the colors and the patterns that are emerging.
